Hello, I'm Naomi!
WELCOME TO MY WORLD.
A visit to my Art Gallery will show you a glimpse of some of my portfolio of illustrations created for some incredible brands such as award-winning, florist to the Royal Family Philippa Craddock, and renowned Savile Row tailor Huntsman.
At university I studied Fashion, which involved some creative and expressive life drawing sessions, as well as the technical drawing of garments in more of a diagram form to show their construction. I loved specialising in print-making; both the hands-on process, but also the designing and planning and laying out each print on the fabric. You may be able to glimpse how these skills, and the background in Fashion have added to the richness and depth of my portfolio.
Art has always been my favourite pastime, most-loved subject at school and ultimately a fun and diverse means of self-expression. Growing up without a TV in our home meant my time was filled with lots of other fun and creative activities. I've always been doodling, crafting, painting and drawing from an early age. Lingering in galleries and browsing each piece, studying the concept behind the design and understanding what it communicates never fails to inspire me.
From creating illustrations and 2D art for a number of years, I started to get asked by clients about making things move. The geeky side of me loves to get stuck in to the technical software and figuring out how best to make my ideas come to life. I'll often start off with a very loose client brief, dream up a short "story" for the animation, and then draw every element by hand. Taking each illustrated component, I build the scene in Adobe After Effects and spend time making the story flow. I absolutely love the entire process. Simultaneously, alongside my illustration and animation work, I've worked with a lot of brands, start-ups and individuals on their branding and graphic design. I've had the joy and privilege of creating logos, flyers, business cards, printed brochures, packaging, stickers and even some website design for a diverse array of clients.
